Blood oxygen - ResMed machine?

Post by dacotto1984 » Sun Sep 04, 2022 3:21 pm

HI everyone,

i have a question. when i did my sleep study 7 months ago, i had my blood oxygen go down to 60%. It's been 4 months since i have been compliant with my therapy. I have not been feeling mentally strong as i once was. So, i want to make sure that my blood oxygen is not what may be causing me to not sleep well.

I have seen there is a device that you can connect to your ResMed AirSense 10 that can measure your blood oxygen. I believe this device may be it -> https://www.respshop.com/oxygen-concent ... p-916.html

Would anyone know if
  • 1. Is there a way to see if my blood oxygen may be to blame just by using OSCAR
  • 2. Will this device show my blood oxygen within myAir app or would i have to connect my sd card to OSCAR to see that information
Thanks for your help!

That link is for the module only...$200
*This is not the complete Oximetry Kit (Module Only)
You would also need the recording pulse oximeter and the only one that is compatible with the ResMed machine is going to run around $800.
So you are looking at a grand at least.
You need the module AND the Oximetery kit.

There are less expensive alternatives that will work and are compatible with OSCAR.

Amazon or EBay are potential sources for those overnight recording pulse oximeters.
Cost between 50 buck and 120 or so depending on features.

I've been using a Wellue O2Ring which integrates nicely with OSCAR. I originally got it when I suspected I had an apnea problem and the low O2 sat reads I was getting was enough for my doc to order up a sleep study and eventually get me onto CPAP. There are other similar devices as Pugsy noted. I like the form factor of the O2Ring and there is software from Wellue that can display the nightly graphs and numbers. OSCAR can look at the data in a more detailed way.
