OT: Notice about my online presence

Most of the regulars know that I usually take a trip out to Vegas to visit my daughter and grandson a couple of times a year but Covid messed with all that.
So tomorrow will be my first trip to see daughter since Christmas pre Covid. Spending one week out there.

So if you don't see me hanging around here or posting much...that's why.
Also if you send me a PM I probably won't read it and respond as quickly as normal.
I am not taking my usual laptop with me but instead I am taking my iPad Pro. I think I have it set up to access the forum easily but I don't like typing on it. Just a PITA because it's "different".
I will each morning and evening check for new account posts as well as the spam new account stuff you never see and make appropriate approvals or disapprovals.

I don't have access to all my saved links for quick referral though and I have yet to master copy/paste crap with the iPad.
So expect brevity if/when I do post a reply. Some of you will silently say "Thank God".

So if you all miss me....I am busy doing other stuff with my daughter and grandson.
I will try to keep the new account posts requesting help caught up fairly quickly though. That's the important thing.

Try to keep the pissing contests and fighting to a minimum. I don't have to type anything to remove a post or ban someone.
That can be accomplished with just a single button pushing but do try to play nice in the sandbox....please.
You all know when you post something that is snide, snarky or just poking at someone....just don't do it.

I would rather be in Vegas than in New Orleans or Biloxi when the temp is 95 and the humidity is 95. That's just plain nasty.

I lived in Vegas for 5 years after the grandson was born.

The dry heat excuse doesn't fly. When you go outside at 1 AM and it's still 102 degrees...it's friggin hot no matter what the humidity is or isn't.
I lived in Alabama as well many, many decades ago....it's miserable there as well.

And now I am really screwed. My laptop crashed to the floor. Big crack across the screen and I have been told it will get worse... Crap, crap, crap.
My life is on this puter.

My daughter is in Vegas too. We will be there end of September, first part of October. Have a blast !!

Heat vs humidity:
Many years ago, having no AC, I ran a dehumidifier in the house.
It actually made the temperature higher, but I was more comfortable;
because my sweat actually could evaporate!
The same way with a sauna vs the steam bath.
I could only bear the sauna.--neither for very long, though.

Delayed flight last night but not horrible.

Monsoon season here in Vegas right now. It is NOT a dry heat…..,it’s 73% humidity. Talk about a sauna.

Phoenix area is 91 degrees with 80 % humidity right now. This has been one of the wettest monsoons in a while. More like what I remember from growing up here. When we moved back I was appalled at some of the places they built houses. I told
My husband you couldn't pay me to live in one development out in Apache Junction because it was built right over the old wash. And gee it flooded in these last few storms. Lets just say I was not at all surprised.
