Philips DreamStation replacement question

Post by JasonK94Z » Tue Jul 19, 2022 8:48 pm

I’ve been using a dream station apap for quite a long time now. I finally registered my unit for a replacement due to the foam on the Philips website. The problem is, I have used my DME provider in several years. I’ve moved twice to different states since I stated, and I’ve just been buying new masks and hoses on my own. Will not having a new sleep doctor and dme affect getting a replacement replacement from Philips?

It shouldn't affect things.

I'm not 100 percent sure but isn't the dream station effected by the phillips recall?

You will be fine.
You will get a few updates until your new replacement is ready to ship and then they will inform you about which DME they will be shipping it to, so you will be able to register with your original DME, once you get the notice from Philips.
If your original DME is no longer in business or if they report back to Philips that you are no longer an active client, then Philips will ship you the replacement directly. (Philips calls this, "matching" in their recall process)
It will take about a year or so. You'll be fine.
Meanwhile you can just replace the foam kit with a hollow kit that does not contain any foam, and your machine will function safely, just fine.
Even though I have had extensive experience with the use and functionality of several types of different PAP machines,no information in my posts should be put in practice unless cleared by your own medical practitioner first.

My husband and I both received replacement machines. His was a bilevel and brand new. Mine was an auto, and was reconditioned. We had no notice that they were coming. They just showed up on our doorstep one day.

Curious, how long did it take?

Jason, I think my husband's machine came about six months ago and mine came last month.
