I'm really into the interpretation of the OSCAR data about things like how CA and OA are identified by the software. Is there any comprehensive learning material like books that I can learn from?

Oscar doesn't interpret data data like that, it just reports it, the machines themselves flag CAs HAs, and OAs in the data stream.
The software is open source, you can download the source code and dig through it.
