Dust filter degradation

Post by Fouiyo » Tue Apr 26, 2022 5:05 am

I have a resmed10. I bought dust filter of amazon with great reviews but the degrade. They seem to let go small particules of plastic. Not so thrilled about that so I ordered Hepa filters but they restrict airflow so I enabled AB filter on my machine. Now the airflow is quite harsher.

Maybe some of you dealt with that ?

The AB filter is downstream of the blower and restricts airflow. This is why ResMed's have an AB filter setting.

The filter you're using (I assume - your post is vague) is upstream of blower, turning on the AB filter setting will result in an incorrect pressure because the restrictive AB filter is not present which the machine is adjusting for.

Set you machine properly, order different filters.

If you have allergies like me, I recommend the original hypoallergenic filters from Resmed. They don't need any special settings to work properly. Use them just like the regular filters.
Machine: Airsense 10 Autoset (humidity 7, slimline hose) (5 years)
Mask: Resmed F30 (medium) (1 year)
Previous masks: Swift FX Nano (5 years); Dreamwear Nasal (few days); Swift FX pillow (few days)
Sleep study in 2016 with AHI 12 and some oxy desats

There's no such thing as a HEPA filter for a CPAP machine, what you got is mislabeled at best, a scam at worst, garbage most likely.

The AB filter is something that goes *in the hose*, turn that setting off.

What they said.

Or, put an AB filter in the hose circuit, and use a *proper* filter.
