VAuto Pressure Issue - stuck at highest pressure.

Post by renesmeeaircurve » Tue Apr 19, 2022 12:18 pm

Hi everyone!

I’m using the Resmed Aircurve 10 with a full face mask. Max IPAP is 20.4, and Min EPAP is 16. PS is 4.4. I do not use the humidifier.

My machine is doing this thing now where after just a minute or so it will increase the pressure to 22 and stay there without decreasing back to 16 and breathing with me like it normally does. I have no idea why this happened, my AHI is always at 0 and I normally feel well rested. But this pressure change is sudden and wakes me up and I feel terrible today because I barely slept.

I got this machine in the US with insurance that I no longer have back in April 2018. I now live in Canada and it is no longer an option for me to go to the CPAP supply store or contact my doctor about this. Please spare me the scolding of not having planned better, obviously this is a bad situation and I wish I could change it but I can’t.

Anyway, I just want to know if anyone else has had this issue and what their solution was? I’m going insane not knowing how to fix this and stressing about this machine is the last thing I need right now.

Have you tried unplugging the device for a minute or so to reset it?

Verified that the settings are what you expect them to be at?

Could you post some screen shots to see if there are some potential causes for the pressure to increase and stay elevated.

If all else fails,
I believe every province in Canada covers a good portion of a new machine evrey 5 or 7 years. Just ask for the diagnosis from your previous doctor in the U.S and bring to a Canadian Cpap supplier and get a new machine. The prices have come down drastically here in Ontario as I recently found out a few months ago when I got my new AirCurve Vpap auto.
My jaw dropped when I found out how little money out pocket the machine cost me.
