auto or fixed?
auto or fixed?
I have the resmed autosense 10 and the sleep doctor that prescribed it set my pressure 8-16. Since then I have changed my sleep dr. and he changed it back to fixed pressure of 11. My sleep AHI is the same, ranges from 1.0 to 4.0 over a 30 day period. What do you experts recommend, fixed or auto? Thank you.

Re: auto or fixed?
Almost always, Auto has advantages over Fixed.
If you are using OSCAR, you can look at the statistics page to get a true comparison of Auto vs Fixed. The 8-16 originally set, and then never changed also suggests no time was spent optimizing it.
Post some graphs of some typical nights at 8-16, I'm sure it can be optimized.

Re: auto or fixed?
You are the patient...Use whichever is the most comfortable for you. If you sleep better with the variable pressure...use it. If not...try the fixed pressure. There is no right or wrong answer unless one causes considerably more apnea events. If you feel your sleep is under control, you should make your own adjustments as needed. You will be on this machine for the rest of your life.
