New Philips Respironics Dreamstation machine from recall delivered

Post by feelingallright » Sun Apr 10, 2022 6:16 pm

Hello all.... I received my new philips dreamstation today... they sent me the cpap, without the humidifier (which I have from my old unit). I bought a resmed 6 months ago so I don't intend to use this. Is there a place to get rid of the new cpap machine? selling it? etc.? Unsure what to do with it.

Thanks all

welcome to the zoo!

don't know how long you've been on cpap. but those that have been on the machine for a while know it's a good idea to have a backup. you may want to consider keeping the dreamstation against the time, perish forbid!, that your resmed decides to break down.

good luck!

thanks... I had a family member who was an engineer for Philips, so I have 2 other dreamstation as back ups ... This would be 3 plus my resmed LOL. This one is new, so I don't think I need a 3rd one. I figure being a recertified I may as well sell it....

cool. yeah, i don't know what i'll do with mine, either. i don't know if i'll feel okay selling it or not, given the now tarnished reputation of philips. and i'm all set with resmed myself. i have what i'm currently using plus a backup. hell, i even have an intellipap sitting around, so i'm covered.

Some people steal pencils and pens from the office.

I printed my S9 clinician's manual on the office printer-
-and forgot to duplex it!
That was a lot of pages.
Luckily, I was not caught.
When I got my Airsense 10, I was retired, so I simply dowloaded the PDF.

Remember, for all the bad news we've heard about Respironics,
they still run off an ordinary 12vdc setup quite easily, and cheaply.
Save that sucker for off-grid use.
