OSCAR feedback requested

Post by cmh126 » Mon Mar 07, 2022 7:00 am

Hello! I am on my third night of therapy. I think this looks good but I would appreciate any feedback. My sleep study AHI was 41. The two breaks in the graph are when I disconnected to get out of bed. Also, I forgot to change the setting on the machine but I tried the Dreamwear nasal cushion for the first time last night--I liked it much better than the Dreamwear FFM.

see that ahi of zero? an ahi is the total of all events you had while sleeping. (well, not leaks as they are there for even a dimwit like me to see!) so zero means NO events!

this means in the end that you had a very, very good night's sleep! did it feel that way to you? no interruptions in sleep?

many people go for a very long time before they hit zero, if they ever get there at all. looks like you are taking to therapy like a duck to water.

good work!

oh and pls let us know how tonight's sleep session goes.

AHI is technically the AVERAGE number of events PER HOUR.
A means "average".

As my learned colleague Zonker says, looks like you're taking to therapy like a duck to water. Could I make two suggestions for minor tweaks:

* Turn off the ramp. I don't think you'll miss it, and this way you'll get information about all parts of your night.

* Raise your minimum to 6. This way you'll have the benefits of your EPR of 2 all night long. (The machine can't go lower than 4, so with pressures below 6, you get less EPR.)

Don't chase the 0.0s, but isn't it nice to start this way!

AHI is
Apnea index
Hyponea index
Index

Index is what makes the number an hourly average

Thank you so much, everyone! I thought it was good but was worried it might be in fact too good to be true and that I was missing something. I’ll try those tweaks, Miss Emerita. I do feel quite good today, Zonker. The first two nights with FFM my sleep felt quite light and I was very conscious of the mask. Last night with the nasal cushion felt much more restful than the previous two nights. (And much to my surprise, I guess I am not a mouth breather like I thought!)
