Full Mask Help

Post by Gomo » Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:47 am

Hi All. I've been using a resmed10 and various nasal pillows mask for 18 months. All is well apart from blocked ears, sore eyes and sinus issues. I'm not a mouth breather but wondered if switching to a full face mask would reduce the pressure going up nose and help alleviate these side effects?
Would appreciate any guidance-Thanks

Many of us have needed MORE pressure with a full face mask.
Of course, you could be an exception . . .

No.. Most likely if you change to a full face mask you will end up needing more pressure to maintain same level of apnea event prevention so any perceived diffusion of the pressure will be offset by an increase in pressure.

You can of course give it a try but I doubt that a full face mask use is going to do what you want in terms of your unwanted symptoms getting reduced.
Often people need more pressure when using a FFM....not less.

If your ears are bothering you....see a doctor.
If your eyes are bothering you ...see a doctor.
For sinus issues....what kind of issues are you having? Perhaps you need more humidity or less humidity.

What are all of your current settings?
Pressure?
Humidity?

Thank you for responding. My minimum setting is 6 and I've tried every setting on/off humidifier to no avail for sinus issues.

I thought with the resmed auto setting the pressure, it wasn't important what the pressure setting are.

My allergist recommends sinus rinses. I use the NeilMed rinse. Might be worth a try.
