Please Review My Oscar Data
I have been on CPAP therapy for several months and recently downloaded OSCAR. i was hoping someone who knows more about this could review and comment on the attached data. The first chart represents what I would consider a normal night. The other ones are from last night where CSR's were detected. thanks for the help.
Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
Not so sure those centrals are real asleep centrals or not.
If you weren't asleep they don't count and we ignore them.
Watch the videos here.

Are you waking up very often during the night? March 1 shows multiple starts and stops of the machine so I assume awake at those times. Any idea why?

Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
Last night was one of those nights where I had trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. The cluster of centrals and the CSR's in the morning was when I was dosing on and off. I was concerned because this was the first time I had seen any CSR. I think I was having some issues with my mask in the March 1 data.
Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
You would need to zoom in a little more closely on the CSR green stamped data but I suspect that the irregularities with not sleeping so great were causing the machine to think something was going on.
Awake/arousal breathing is irregular when compared to asleep breathing and if we are awake when anything gets flagged then it is not something to worry about other than we wonder why we weren't sleeping so great.
The CSR flagged grouping of centrals really looks irregular compared to what real CSR looks like on the screen shot you shared.
I think they are more along the lines of false positives and can be ignored than real CSR breathing.
The flagged CA/central at 7:46....definitely an awake flagged event...the big gulps of air are a dead giveaway. We don't take those big gulps when asleep. So that makes me suspect everything after that first flagged event and the CSR that goes along with it.
Especially since you say that this is a new occurrence for you.

Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
Thanks for your help. Does this picture give you a better chance to evaluate the events at the end of the night?
Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
Yes. That's better.
I don't think you were sound asleep when that green section occurs. I think that is either awake or semi awake breathing.
If it were my report....I would ignore it and try instead to figure out why I wasn't sleeping so great and fix that if at all possible.

Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
There are some puzzling CA flags in the first of the zoomed-in views from Thursday. I can't see any pause in your breathing of 10 seconds or more. So definitely discount those.
I'm just curious why your pressures sometimes swing up and down. If you post charts in the future, could you include the flow limitation and snore graphs?
Do you have any idea whether pressure changes disturb your sleep?
It can take time before PAP therapy starts making people sleep better and feel more rested. A few lucky souls take to it immediately, but the rest of us adjust more slowly to the new night-time experience. So hang in there!

I appreciate your encouragement. I have no idea what pressures cause my mask issues. I've included my March 1 Oscar chart with the parameters you requested.

Thanks. Yes, your flow limitations are driving up the pressure, though not snores. Do you know whether pressure changes disturb your sleep?
No need to repost anything, but if you ever do post a new chart, you can squeeze the graphs by grabbing the gray bars that separate them. The most valuable graphs to get into one screenshot are these:
Events
Flow rate
Pressure
Leaks
Snores
Flow limitations.

Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
In my Oscar data from last, I noticed that at 4:15 am the flow rate graph changes to a much more narrow band than earlier in the night. Is this normal? I've included pictures of the graphs if someone can look at them for me. Thanks in advance for your help.
Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
Nice slow regular breathing reflecting sound asleep. Very normal.Whiskey1234 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 9:56 amI noticed that at 4:15 am the flow rate graph changes to a much more narrow band than earlier in the night. Is this normal?
It's the slightly irregular breathing that precedes the nice slow regular breathing that is sort of not so normal.
That breathing prior to 04:15:45 points to maybe a little bit of arousal breathing or perhaps a change in sleep stage.
Probably ever so slight arousal and you won't remember it.

Re: Please Review My Oscar Data
On my charts, that would correspond to a period of time when I was lying there awake, trying to get back to sleep. But of course Pugsy's right that it is probably just good asleep breathing that is for some reason shallower. Nothing to worry about.

It's probably not all that shallow in real life. It just looks more shallow when compared to the probable arousal breathing preceding it.
Or it could be nice slow deep sleep stage of some sort.
Which ever....certainly no cause for alarm. One of those shrug your shoulders things and move on.
