BiPap…Moving from P-10 to FFM?

Post by stutrefry@gmail.com » Wed Mar 02, 2022 1:48 pm

On bipap (currently 16/12) for past 9 years using Resmed P-10 nasal pillows. Love it and did just fine for years. Now air leaking/dry mouth. Dr discourages mouth taping. Probably need to go to FFM. During sleep studies they tried FFM. It always expands and contracts on my face which is very distracting. Is there a mask that is as quiet and baffled as P10 that won’t “come alive” on my face and blow my wife off the bed?

With your pressure, I would recommend a mask with a forehead support. They seem more stable especially if you move around at night. ResMed Mirage Quattro, Fisher & Paykel Simplus or Fisher & Paykel Vitera would be my choices. There are other FF masks that may work too.

Have you tried a soft cervical collar to help with the mouth leaks with the P10? For some of us it solved that particular issue.

first of all, welcome to the zoo!

by any chance, have you been using the same p10 over the course of those nine years? if so, that could be the cause of your leaks.

assuming you haven't been using the same one, may i recommend an alternative to mouth taping?

here, at this link-

this is the method i use along with some alterations.

good luck!

Or, you could just not tell your doctor that you bought some micropore tape...
