Res Med Air Curve 10 ST

Post by CARPENTER-MATE » Sat Feb 19, 2022 9:31 pm

Hi Gang

I have a Res Med Air Curve 10 ST and can't figure out if the machine is capable of keeping track of IRREGULAR sleep periods? I have severe apnea and unfortunately do not sleep during normal hours - I start sleep from approx. 3-7 AM and end at approx. 12-3 PM. And my sleep is broken into short cycles but I try to get at least 6 hours minimum per night. Is there a way for me to RESET the internal clock every day in the machine in order to have the machine keep more accurate time and record of sleep hours? If I don't keep manual track of hours slept, the machine goes wacky and never keeps accurate hours of sleep ...

Thank You

Hours of use are tracked from noon to noon. When you sleep after 12 Noon, those couple hours go into the next day

The quick and dirty way to keep sleep hours in one day is to set the noon in the ResMed CPAP to your typical bedtime time.

So actual time 3AM equal to 12PM in CPAP clock time.

You know if it were me I might try a 12 hour adjustment to the machine's internal clock (you can change the clock in the machine) similar to what people do when they are nigh workers and they sleep during the day and don't want the sleep sessions broken apart when the machine thinks it is noon.
12 PM or Noon is when the machine normally starts a new recording session. It has to be split somewhere but you can make it start a new session recording wise and keep the sessions more together.

The manual will show you how to get to the clock and reset it.
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

Bear in mind that sometimes when we mess with the clock sometimes it won't let us go backwards if there is data within they time frame that going backwards might mess with.

Like if you set the clock 12 hours forward then when it is Noon in real life and you are sleeping or close to sleep time the machine will think it is midnight and not break the sessions.

Make sense???? Your actual time of going to sleep will be off but who cares since what you want is your time asleep consolidated into one 24 hour sleep session.

Hi Gang!

Thank you for all your replies (sorry for the late reply)

"Bear in mind that sometimes when we mess with the clock sometimes it won't let us go backwards if there is data within they time frame that going backwards might mess with"

I have a neurological illness which prevents me from going to sleep at any 'regular or normal hour' :(

Unfortunately its different every night ...

"try a 12 hour adjustment to the machine's internal clock" ? Yes?

Thank You!

Isn't there a time period everyday that you definitely know you're going to be awake?

Set the machine 12PM to a time within that period and you're golden.

Hello Mr. Grumpy

Nice to see you (sorry for the late reply) ...

"Isn't there a time period everyday that you definitely know you're going to be awake?" "Set the machine 12PM to a time within that period"

I'd say for example I know I'd be awake by 1-2PM most days ... So then I'd set the machine from 12PM to 2PM?

Do you know if there's an online Res Med Tutorial to get to these settings?

Thank you!

I am just repeating what Pugsy said in a different way. Hopefully between the two explanation, you wind up at the same place.

You're trying to delay the machine noon (12PM) until your sleep sessions for the day are done. If you're awake by 2PM most days, I'd pad a couple hours into it just to be safe.

At 4PM your local time you would set the CPAP clock to 12PM.

But you may get the following message “Date and time cannot be set in the past"
The cause: Date and time were not set before data was recorded

You have two option. Either way your data is going be off on the day you set the clock.

1. Set the date one day forward then the time to 12PM.
2. Select Erase Data in Settings. Once the data is erased, set the time to 12PM.

I didn't find the the guide specific to your machine, but it is a subset of the ST-A model.
Your machine differs from the ST-A in the following manner:
No iVAPS mode
No PAC mode
No alarms
It only go up to 25cm h2o.

Model comparison:

Clinical Guide for the AirCurve 10 ST-A - It still has a lot of info you should learn

https://ontvep.ca/wp-content/uploads/20 ... -Guide.pdf

Page 16 shows how to enter Clinician Menu.
Page 18 shows you how to set the clock.

Good luck.
