Philips Respironics System One, works great first 5-6 hours, but then when I breathe, feel 'suction'

Philips Respironics System One DS550HS CPAP Machine
For the last 5+ years, this CPAP has worked great, I've slept throughout the night and I switch out the hose and mask on a regular basis.
However, in the last week, it works great first 5-6 hours, then I wake up-I feel as I breathe, I feel this 'suction' and it wakes me up.
There is still water in the holding tank. I've left the humidifier setting on 3 for the most part, but I also have tried 4 and 5 after I started having this issue, but I still feel this 'suction'.
I have not changed anything on the home screen for the last 5+ years.
Could someone please help me with this?

The sensation is not unusual for beginners, but after 5 years, I would call your doctor.
It could be you.

Is the cpap on or off when you wake up?

I'm thinking it is off - most likely due to a large enuff leak it thinks you took your mask off.

Perhaps you don't know this, but you are using a recalled machine that has been deemed as possibly unsafe.

See this thread.

as mentioned, your machine is on recall due to foam issues.

beyond that, it is said that the "average life span" of a cpap machine is 5 years, so you may be running up against that.

so it's either repair or replace. if'n i were you, i'd replace.

however, you can get in touch with these folks regarding any repair-

good luck!
