Narrow mask

After back tooth extraction my Simplus and Vitera full face masks are too painful to use, I cant use nasal masks of any sort but im wondering if the F30i hybrid mask would be more comfortable to use. It does not look so wide across the mouth so may avoid putting pressure on the painful areas . I cant find the actual width but does anybody know what it is?

I cleared out 12years of old masks and that was one of them . I could not get it to stop leaking

I have the medium F30i and it's 4 inches across when resting over the tape measure.

Thanks for that . I did not think it was that large.

Im hoping that the shape of the F30 may avoid the painful area of my face.

In the UK if I buy a mask from one website I can get a full refund if i return the mask. Seeing that the mask is larger than I thought that may be a better bet

I have long considered hacking a Fitlife mask with a sealed, inflatable cushion
to accommodate a bulky extosis on my lower jaw.
But then I started using nasal pillows--and never looked back.

So, I gather your nasal obstruction is permanent and irreversible.

The ENT thought it was too risky and from a ENT point of view i could still breath with my mouth

I have been given a Resmed Swift FX pillow mask to try . I was surprised how much air flowed through my nasal airways but its not enough. I was gasping for breath after 3 mins. My nasal airways are too restricted

Im thinking that loosening the straps ,on my Simplus mask, and lowering the pressure, on my Airsense 10, to reduce leaks may be better than not using CPAP at all.
My pressure range is 10-16 and my AHI is allways under 1
What pressure could I reduce too and what would be a acceptable increase in AHI?

Given your criteria, I'd say any AHI below your untreated AHI would be acceptable until your wound heals.

Take the following suggestion with a truckload of salt.

In terms of pressure, I'd suggest running it at a fixed minimum pressure where you don't feel air starved.

I dont know what my untreated AHI is !!
I reduced the range from 10-20 to 10-16 with not much change in AHI
Reducing it to 10-14 gave me a AHI of 0.9 last night
Do I keep on reducing the pressure and loosening the straps

You're the only can assess your risk levels of getting a dry socket vs suffering damage due to disturbed sleep.

My suggestion regarding the setting the pressure just above "feeling air starved" was meant to reduce possibility of dry socket yet getting some CPAP benefit.

Your emphasis on low AHI level seem to weigh apnea treatment more heavily than getting a dry socket.

Again, you need to make your own risk assessment.
