Dry mouth w full face mask

Post by MildApniac » Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:05 pm

hi all, I have been using a resmed s9 autoset for many years, just got an airsense 10 and use a full face mask. Recently, I have started waking up with a really dry mouth. Horribly dry (at least it feels that way).

Cant say if this started with the 10 or not.

Mask is tight, and machine doesnt say theres leaks. I do know that in the morning (last few hours of sleep) the pressure seems to go very high. (This was the case with my S9 as well)

anyway, Im baffled as this is a full face mask so its not like the air is coming out my mouth...

It's likely that you are breathing through your mouth. This can cause dry mouth in just a few minutes.

I use a dry mouth gel (GC Dry Mouth Gel) with my FFM. Some use Xylimelts. Some tape their lips shut.

Do you practice placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth to prevent mouth-breathing?

Which model FFM are you using? There are dozens of models.
