Recording sleep data to SD card

Post by Golf016 » Sat Jun 19, 2021 10:42 am

My new DreamStation 2 did not come with an SD card so I tried using my old SD card from the original DreamStation.

The first time I inserted it in the DreamStation 2 SD slot it showed an error to basically remove it and re--insert it, I did and I did not get any more error messages but It did not write anything to it last night, do I have to tell the DreamStation 2 to write to it? and if so how?

Or should I use a blank SD card?

Is there an easy way to test writing to an SD card without sleeping half the night?

I am able to to use Dream Mapper but I prefer to use OSCAR since it provides a lot more data.

Not to my knowledge. There has never been such a feature on any Respironics machine.

30 minutes to an hour of awake breathing (watch TV or read a book) while using the machine wearing mask.

I would buy a new card only if the awake test didn't show any data. It is possible that the SD card is damaged.

How did you determine this?

I recently had a micro SD card fail for no apparent reason, not the first time either. This particular card was not used for CPAP data at all, I was using it in a phone. It happens. You can pop it into a PC / SD card reader and see if it mounts. Create a test text file on it or something like that if it mounts successfully. My recent failed card would show up as an unformatted volume in Windows and could not be formatted.

I tried to import the sleep data to OSCAR and found no sleep activity for the past 2 days.
The DreamStation 2 is writing to the SD drive since I found several files stamped with todays date and time.

I checked the today's date and time on the DreamStation 2 and it was correct (thinking the date was off )
I then opened the SD drive via explorer from my computer and saw I had a folder called P-SERIES
In there was three folders 74FAE304 16788608 18226111 and a file called LAST
The file LAST was a Text Document stamped with today's date 6/19/2021 and the time of 4 AM, I woke up at 3:30 AM
The Text file had just the characters 74FAE304
I also found a file in the 74FAE304 folder stamped with todays date and it had the following text in it
CF=2
SN=J167886084727
MN=500X110
PT=0x5A
DF=0
DFV=3
F=0
FV=6
SV=V1.0.6.2690
FD=1475424001
LD=1623915662
FN=19
PFN=441
EFN=1
DFN=5
SID=0,1,2,3,4,5,6
BK=0x0000de600008285f5166
SK=0x0000498e0265420a71af
EK=0x00000001040838e9df4d
DK=0x00000007030c44181643
TS=0,7,0,0,0,0,0
DC=1,1,1,1,1,1,1
VC=0x86A996C2

So it is writing to the SD drive just not the sleep data.

OSCAR is not yet compatible with the DreamStation 2 model machines....
at least that's the last I heard.
It's being worked on though

Also I heard that even Encore Pro which is Respironics machine software.....not yet compatible.

This has happened pretty much every time Respironics has come out with a new model...they change the file structure and thus updating of software is needed.

You've got data but the software just can't show it yet. OSCAR needs to be updated and it's not ready yet.

I like to ask stupid questions.

Sometimes they bring smart answers.

The last I saw posted from the OSCAR team was that they have data files from DreamStation 2 and are working on interpreting the file structure - http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t ... 9#p1385809
