get a AirSense10 now or wait for AirSense11?
don't want to use my dreamstation anymore. and the recall will take a while for sure. thinking about getting a resmed. I heard the AirSense11 is coming out soon. So do I just get a AirSense10 now or keep using the dreamstation on and off until the AirSense11 is out

Resmed has never made a "s10" and isn't going to make a "s11".supermikelala wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:54 amdon't want to use my dreamstation anymore. and the recall will take a while for sure. thinking about getting a resmed. Look at the Resmed website to find out what they're called.

Re: get a s10 now or wait for s11?
Apparently some people in Australia are getting Airsense 11's.
This guy is doing reviews: https://youtu.be/nH_YaSS-eAA There's one featuring the manual for the 11, too with details about it's operation.
Watch fast, ResMed doesn't like this guy posting the videos and keeps forcing YouTube to take them down.
Judge for yourself if it is different enough to make you want the latest, greatest model or not.

So far it doesn't seem like 11 is going to be much more than a cosmetic difference. Until they update the algorithm or make every machine bilevel capable or some other thing that would warrant excitement, I'd say go with the cheaper option, unless you've got good insurance.

Re: get a s10 now or wait for s11?
In the US....I heard some time in August for the AirSense 11 but not a verified source....just the rumor mill.
Going by what they have done in the past and with the Phillips fiasco probably accelerating the sales of the AiSense 10 models...they might debut it sooner. Probably a lot of factors involved and we just have to be patient. They will want to deplete existing inventory as much as possible and they got an unexpected boon with the Respironics recall and people who can just buy a machine...beating feet to the online sellers.
Most DMEs wouldn't have had both brands in inventory. Usually they stock the brand that offers the best wholesale contract cost so the DMEs with Respironics on the shelf...they are going to be most likely buying ResMed in masse...sucking up the inventory.
If the only machine someone has is a DreamStation...given the recall and most DreamStations affected....I wouldn't wait if it were me especially if my other option was not use the DreamStation at all.
We don't know for sure when the AirSense 11 is going to be released here...how available it will be once released ....and exactly what new stuff might be on it. We might like it...and we might not.
But some people just have to have the "latest and greatest" of anything just on principle. I am not one of those people.
I will expect the price for the AirSense 11 to be at a premium though....ResMed knows when they have people by the short hairs...and I suppose if I was in the business I would take advantage of the situation as well.
Look at what is happening to the AirSense 10 already.....it was discounted significantly and now it's almost doubled in price.
Supply and demand folks. It is what it is.
I wouldn't do without cpap at all though. My O2 levels tanked horribly without cpap. If I had no choice and the only option for me right now was the Respironics....I would add an inline bacterial filter (won't hurt even if it doesn't help all that much) and accelerate any plans to buy a different brand....even if it was a cheap older machine off craigslist. Those make good travel and back up machines anyway....especially if I was wanting to hold out for the latest and greatest.
Get a cheap older/used machine from someone and use it until the latest and greatest was available.
Pros and cons to everything...we just have to decide which is more important to us.

I'm waiting for the Resmed Airsense 12 Auto-vac.
I hear (from a very reliable source) that it will be a CPAP/Vacuum Cleaner combo.

OSCAR team has received SD card files for them.
"Someone on the team" has said data format has minor changes vs major changes for DS2 file formats.
Edit: not sure BlueDragon or Gideon said - can't find the post just remember reading it.

AirSense10 is awesome sauce. Both Me and my roommate with Sleep Apnea have one. Don't know enough about a 11 to say.

Re: get a AirSense10 now or wait for AirSense11?
I can confirm that the DME provider another user posted is selling them in Utah. I called and they confirmed they are one of the limited DME suppliers participating in a controlled launch. However, they are not allowed to ship them out of state. I could fly to Utah and purchase it and take it with me.
I'm sure there are others part of the controlled launch, but I don't know who else is involved.
A reliable source has said that August is when they have planned a full launch. As others have mentioned, the Philips situation is causing a shift to ResMed and may hopefully speed up the launch.

Getting hold of data from an unexposed source is quite a different thing to A11s being delivered to ordinary end users

Multiple sources in the form of postings at different forums, reddit, youtube etc showed "ordinary end users" have them.billbolton wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 6:10 pmGetting hold of data from an unexposed source is quite a different thing to A11s being delivered to ordinary end users![]()
And southerndoc had confirmed here and elsewhere, they are in limited release.

"In the wild" does not imply wide availability.

I can confirm I could've purchased one, but I would have had to travel to Utah to purchase it. The DME provider was not allowed to ship them as part of the controlled release.
