Mouth Breathing - Settings Advice Please

Post by golfgame » Sat Jun 12, 2021 11:50 am

I struggle badly with mouth breathing. I have tried headbands, taping, and taping with the headband. Nothing works well.
I am a Bleep Sleep user. I have used 3M paper surgical tape, which works best but causes irritation. I have also used Somnifix.

I have a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAUTO.

Current settings
VAUTO
Max IPAP 11
Min EPAP 7
Climate Control - Auto
Tube Temp 80*

Currently, the room temp is 72*, humidity 60-65 I'd guess

We recently bought a Sleep Number bed and I have the ability to raise my head.

Any recommendations from anyone?

have you used any of those methods in conjunction with a firm foam cervical collar?

but that's enough about them.

i use the scunci method with the cervical collar. works very well.

i also modify jay's scunci method. i didn't cut out holes for the ears. jay's head must've been a different shape than mine. and i use 2. 1 up over the head, the 2nd one around the back of my neck. plus two rubbe rband like deals that scunci makes as well.

the collar keeps my jaw from dropping. the rest keep my lips pressed to my teeth.

might be worth a shot.the collar can be found at the drugstore in amongst the home care section. or online-
https://www.amazon.com/Coreline-Cervica ... 946&sr=8-5

that's the one i use.

I did 'tongue clucking' exercises. I.E Place tongue on roof of mouth and make a clucking sound. Then place tongue on roof of mouth , hold then breath through nose. Repeat 20 times 3 times/day. YMMV.
