i need a new mask, any sugestions

Hello,
I have been using a resmed airsense 10 machine for quite a few years. all is ok with it. I have always used nasal cushion mask with it.Maybe they are called pillows, they fit under nose. Lately it has been bothering me, getting a red face on the machine in morning.
I am going for a new mask replacement this week. My question is are their other cushion type masks that would fit my machine that I could maybe try out.

All masks fit most machines except the little tiny travel ones. I personally like the N-20 nasal cushion.

My personal preference is the Bleep. No headgear, fantastic personal support! Can't recommend it highly enough!

that's the one i use! but i understand that what works for me may not work for thee.

did you see anything else at the link that you might want to try?

it's difficult choosing just the right mask. people can go through at least a dozen before they get the one they want. i'm lucky in that the p10 was the fourth mask i tried and i love it.

I have liked this mask on and off for 4 years. Mostly I like it. I just find that the headgear gets old fast and my insurance in Canada will only pay for a new mask every 3 years but when i do cave and buy a new strap it is pretty good. so maybe that is my only issue and I should forget insurance and just buy new headgear every 6 months or so.

d'oh! <slaps self in forehead> actually thought of this after i logged off and never got back on.

do you know about washing the headgear to shrink it? just remove the headgear itself. toss it in the laundry with your other regular washing. i use a mesh bag so that it doesn't get wrapped around anything. then toss it in the dryer along with the rest.

the result is that it will shrink down to it's almost new size. this won't last forever, of course. after a few washing/drying cycles, it gives up and refuses to shrink any more.

but this will definitely get more life out of it.

AirFit N30 straps also work with P10.
They also have a clasp that allows adjustment when the material stretches out.

Some of you use the P 10 with obvious success. But not me. Just got one and my mouth opens as soon as I drop asleep and wakes me up. Can anyone help me understand how to use this thing? I love the design and would really like to make it work.

Some people tape their mouth.

Some use cervical collar.

Some use head (Scunci) bands.

Chin straps.

Or some combo of all above.

also, while many people use tape, here is the method i use instead-

Nasal cushion is the type that Iies against the nose whereas pillows insert slightly inside the nasal openings.

I tried the Brevida nasal pillow mask; it sealed well and had minimal leaks. However, I have thick nasal hairs so it tended to cause irritation and soreness. So am sticking with cushions.

Currently use Resmed N30i (cushion). Was using Philips Dreamwear which I think is most comfortable but nasal cushion did not seal as well.

The N30i has a new nasal cushion design that looks more comfortable than the original. Also has diffuser instead of tiny vent holes to make more quiet. Just ordered these as replacements and am hoping that there truly is an improved function.
