Red Mask Blisters on bridge of nose

Post by happybreather » Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:35 am

I use an ResMed F20 full face mask, and I am getting a lot of red skin marks across the bridge of my nose. I am looking for anything to help stop the red blister marks. I have tried gel packs, but when I use those, I get a lot of leakage around the edges. I have tried reducing the strap tension, but when I do, leakage starts. Any suggestions?

The one full face mask that worked with my itty bitty nose was the Respironics gel.
I don't even know if it is still made.
I have used nasal pillows for years--and hope to never go back to full face torture.

You probably will have to let the area heal if raw.

When I use my F20 I cut a small piece and place it over the bridge and down the sides a bit. (area of discussion)
No leak, no raw and no pain. It is sort of cushiony (if that is a word)
Not to mention cheap. :D

Removes easily also.

You could have said silky, comfortable, elastic, pliable, smooth, fluffy, spongy, comfy, rounded, creamy, easy, mushy, flexible, supple, delicate, velvety.

But NO!, you!, you! you just had to say cushiony.

Use a small band aid across your nose or go to Walmart or a drug store and get some mole skin in the foot section.

When I was using a FF mask I cut a strip of Kleenex and put it across my nose. It didn’t affect the seal, just kept the irritation at bay. During the day I used Aquaphor or Paw Paw ointment. Doing the same thing with my nose pillows (just started week 2)…Kleenex on the outer side of each nostril where the little blisters are until they harden up (hopefully). The struggle is real. Sigh…

NO!, she!, she! she is just using butchered grammar and punctuation to complain about using cushiony.

You didn't coin anything, cushiony is a perfectly fine word.

Thanks everyone. Lately, I have tried doubling, or even tripling Nexcare flexible clear tape. That seems to help. Bridge of nose gets slightly red, but that's probably the best I can expect.

When I was using a mask that irritated my nose, I used a piece of moleskin on my nose every night. You can find it at Walmart or any drug store in the foot care section. I used to buy it on the interned in fifteen yard rolls. I would simply cut off a small piece from the roll and stick it on my nose before putting on the mask.
