Interpreting husband's results correctly?

I suspect my husband might have some sleep apnea issues due to the following:
1. Seems overly tired some days
2. A little weight gain
3. Does snore a little bit
4. Has admitted he wakes up every few hours and sometimes isn't able to go back to sleep, but attributed this to age (64). He isn't on any medications (besides eye drops for glaucoma).

I put my machine on him for a night, and he actually took to it quite well. I wanted to post his charts and confirm with the experts here that it does look like there are issues with the increases in pressure. I asked and he wasn't aware of being awake for a prolonged period, so I'm not sure what to make of the CA's appearing.

I know this is just one night though.

He wants to avoid doctors, so I've proposed the option of finding a used machine. Thank you for any advice/help!

Don't worry about a handful of CA's... not important at all so far. I would raise his min. pressure to 6 or so and see how that goes for 1-2 nights, otherwise pretty good.

Thanks Julie for the recommendation and the reassurance! I have to confess that since I have to go to work tomorrow, I'm using my machine tonight (although I do wonder if he has more need of it than me at this point.)

i don't know what you mean by this. but looking at the pressure graph, we can see that the minimum may want to be raised as it goes up to 6 or so and doesn't come back down really until the end there.

Not a bad idea. You're in a good place to get the help to do that.

Sorry for being unclear! I meant that the increases in pressure mean that he does indeed need cpap/apap therapy. In other words, I'm looking for reassurance that we're pursuing the right path by setting him up with a machine, etc. (and it sounds like the answer is likely yes).

If that report was from my husband....I would be finding him a machine to use.

My husband has a saying that he doesn't want to encourage doctors or lawyers.

Also, the symptom that led me to investigate what was wrong was that he was uncharacteristically cranky, so it's in my own best interest to get him back to feeling better!

Now I just need to find a gently used Resmed, preferably Autoset for Her.

leave a pm for forum member lsat. he quite often has gently used machines for sale and i've seen the for her model sold by him many times.

while i haven't dealt with him, other forum members have and were really pleased with the results.

It's been a few weeks, enabling me to collect more data. I'm so grateful to LSAT for selling me the machine at just the right time--I can't imagine waiting months to go through the insurance hoops to get a sleep study while worrying about the effects of untreated sleep apnea.

My husband is a pretty agreeable, non-complaining fellow. The main problem is that he often doesn't wear his mask long enough, so I think we probably need to experiment with other masks. I've posted some of his charts below. His current pressure is at 6--should I increase it? Any other recommendations? Thank you!

Have him try 8 cm minimum with same EPR and see how he does.
The machine is going up and down a lot but always pretty much averaging at least around 10 ish pressure.

I wonder what his flow limitation graph looks like? Is he complaining of any nasal congestion to speak of?
Flow limitations can drive the pressure upwards and sometimes nasal congestion can cause flow limitations but for nasal congestion flow limitations more pressure isn't the answer. Instead we have to address nasal congestion by other means.
