Infineer/Mako Card Reader Detection Problem Solved

Post by RestedOne » Wed Mar 14, 2007 8:41 pm

To anyone who has not been able to get their Mako/Infineer card reader to be detected by there computer, I'd like to explain how I got mine to work.

Firstly, I'd like to thank the people on this forum that tried to help explain why my card reader wasn't working originally. Many people seemed to conclude that my card reader driver was the problem, but it turns out that it wasn't.

I solved the problem by first having my LPT1 port repaired/replaced on my notebook computer and secondly most importantly, had to reformat my computer so that all of the preferences/settings were set properly. Now my card reader works fine.

I hope this information helps others that may have unknowingly changed settings that could affect the funciton of their card reader.

I said about two months ago that I would keep people on this forum updated on how I solve this problem. Sorry, it took sooooo! long! but I am finally getting around to posting my resolution here, although my card reader has been working fine for some time now.

A reformat solves many computer problems and is a good way to go when you've flailed with something for a long time to no avail. Glad it worked for you.
