Hi everyone .I was hoping someone may have comments who is using oxygen as I have been with cpap
I have no respiratory therapist and have been using oxygen w cpap for a year now.
this is not a good idea and I am on list for therapist.
Cannot get an oximeter as there is a shortage here.
now I read oxygen can be dangerous .They tried me on it as I was hyper breathing when woke up .I have copd .Therapist then moved.
and not sure if I should continue .It is almost impossible to get. a respiratory therapist .but I am trying and to be clear not asking for medical advice just wondering if I am alone in using this combo.
I cant do without the c pap !But with no doctor on the case ,considering giving 02 up for awhile. One dr called it hyperventilation syndrome. said 02 might help .
I will def get my dr to refer to a support team as it is easier to handle this .Been on c pap for 11 years. This is a great forum and any comments much appreciated .

Re: anyone using oxygen w cpap ?
Low flow O2 (under 5lpm) isn't dangerous, low flow added to all the air from a CPAP is less dangerous, you're getting 30-40lpm (probably) of room air, adding 3-4 lpm from a concentrator will increase the oxygen content somewhat, but not *A LOT* and is nothing to worry about.sammy1954 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:51 pmHi everyone .I was hoping someone may have comments who is using oxygen as I have been with cpap

The only real question is 'do you need it', and without a recording oximeter, you can't answer that question.
you really want something like a CMS-50F unit, that you can wear all night, then download the data from. There's a bunch on Ebay, someone might be willing to ship to Canada.
Get OSCAR

Supplemental O2 is not dangerous unless you are near something burning or sparking. I don't see any oximeter shortage in Canada, they are available on Ebay and Amazon.sammy1954 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:51 pmHi everyone .I was hoping someone may have comments who is using oxygen as I have been with cpap
