Cleaning Phillips Respironics System One.

Hi I really need some advice. Last night it was brought to my attention that Phillips Dreamstation 1 which I have been using since November has had problems where people were breathing in small bits of foam. Well earlier in the week I saw something in the reservoir and washed it out not knowing about this at all and kept using it. So after I heard about this I slept without the machine last night and today went to the shed and got my old Phillips Respironics System One machine that had been in the shed since November when I got the Dreamstation. So I went over the outside with a damp towel but my question is how do you clean the part where the hose connects, the part where the filter goes and the part where you put the reservoir? Luckily I have 2 unused reservoirs and I just worry about cleaning those areas because I don't know if you can put water in there. Please help!

How about wetting a lint-free cloth with a little alcohol and rubbing any dirty parts? Or even a quality paper towel?

No I am really not. I am not gonna breathe in little bits of foam so they can get into my lungs. I don't care what people's symptoms are. That is not normal. I don't care what that company says.

One night without a CPAP is very difficult for me. Even dangerous.

Well maybe you should start paying attention to what the company says.

You may have just replaced a 6 month machine that is unlikely to have the problem, with a considerably older machine a lot more likely to have the problem.

If you used So Clean to sanitize or clean it originally, you should know that ozone will damage internal foam (never mind your lungs) and they are in court trying to avoid huge reparations for people who fell for their scam ads and Cpap co's who have voided machine warranties for those who used SC.

This is interesting, I might get one to add an extra layer of protection. Not that I'm particularly nervous but it doesn't seem like it would be obtrusive.

You should have a setting in your machine for an AB filter and the machine then compensates for it. ResMed has it but I don't know about Phillips Respironics cause I'm a ResMed person.
