Been using cpap 2 months, still look exhausted!!
Ok so I needed the cpap since 16years old,I bit the bullet at 26 and purchased the transcend 365 mini cpap with a full face air mask.i use it as instructed and I'm unsure whether it stops me snoring as I don't have a partner (snoring drove them all crazy to leave) my question is why after 2 months of therapy do the bags under my eyes still look like ive had my nose broken? Black circles like a panda showing no sign of improvement..is this normal or is it a case of 10 years of constant damage done it'll take 10 years to repair it? Or irreversible? Anyone help?

Hard fact: Snoring may not be the reason they left--just saying.
The bullfrog's snoring drove me up the wall but we have been married for nearly 53 years.
I like his face, his fuzzy beard, and even his sweaty funk.
Those partners were just not that into you.
Sorry.

Many have excessive respiratory minute volume at rest during daytime > 10 l/min instead of 5-7 l/m. O2 saturation in blood is always about 95-98% and doesn’t depend on ventilation rate. But hyperventilation cuts blood CO2 which is vital for O2 exchange, low CO2 can lead to hypoxia. Hypoventilation below 20 l/min is quite unobvious and silent, but it can be determined by measurement of respiratory minute volume, by functional tests of Shtange-Genchi (apnea), or by even more precise test of Control Pause (time of apnea before first inconvenience after usual uninhibited exhale). CP norm at rest is 40-45 sec, if CP less than 25 sec it is already moderate hyperventilation. If your CO2 level is low (usually this is the common problem) you can restore it in weeks or months, it depends.ShepherdKai wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 3:36 amOk so I needed the cpap since 16years old,I bit the bullet at 26 and purchased the transcend 365 mini cpap with a full face air mask.i use it as instructed and I'm unsure whether it stops me snoring as I don't have a partner (snoring drove them all crazy to leave) my question is why after 2 months of therapy do the bags under my eyes still look like ive had my nose broken? I have dark under eye circles as well. It has been around for a very long time, prior to my sleep issues arising. But it may also potentially be from my nasal obstruction which I am getting surgery next month for. But it may just be neither of those things and is just a genetic issue and how I am. I had this fantasy about the nasal surgery reducing the dark circles. I dont really think its likely that will happen but would be a nice, although doubtful side benefit.ShepherdKai wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 3:36 ammy question is why after 2 months of therapy do the bags under my eyes still look like ive had my nose broken? If you are that concerned about it dark circles can be quite easily remedied. I use make up. And I am a man. Why should girls get to have all the fun? I just use concealer under my eyes that matches my skin tone. Super easy. Does not take much time. No one ever has any idea I am wearing it. I do it every morning before work or before I go out. A very easy fix.
It might be better to focus on other ways of assessing how your progressing, as your dark circles may not be a very effective way of assessing it. Eg what does the data say, how do you feel, how much sleep are you getting, etc.
