Switched to pillows from nasal
went from an N20 to P10 to try it - so far, really liking it.
At first I had to get used to the sensation that it was just barely hanging on, since the straps are a lot lighter. The climateline probably contributes to that sensation with weight but I make sure enough tubing is sitting on the mattress to lighten things.
My leak went from around 9 to 1 - and from that the pressure went from around mid 9's to mid to low 7s.
Not 100% sure there is a connection , but : I stopped waking up every night at around 3 am and then going back to sleep 15 minutes later. I seem to sleep right through with the P10 almost always.
my rolling 30 day average AHI is sitting at .82 its never been that low. Ive only been at this for 6 months total now, but I would say that 1.5 - 1.7 is the lowest 30 day I have had previously.
The experience of nasal vs pillows to me seems like apples to oranges rather than just 2 different kinds of apples etc. - very very different top to bottom.
I'm glad I gave it a shot - !

Great to hear you're doing so well with the P10! Finding the right mask can be the biggest struggle in CPAP use, and it sounds as though you've won that battle.
Be aware that the straps tend to stretch out. For a while, washing and drying will help to counteract that, but when you see your leak rate inching up, you'll know you need new headgear.
If you're ever interested, you might consider using a hose lift (aka hose stand) to get the tubing up and out of the way. I'm really liking the Houdini lift, which can telescope down during the day and hide behind a pillow. The P10 short hose is nice and flexible, which makes lifts easier to use. You just need to figure out the right amount of slack in the hose: enough for tossing and turning, not so much that it droops onto your face.

I use a makeshift gantry to support my Climateline hose,
reducing the weight on my face to almost nothing.

Thanks for the info. I have not looked into it ( lifts) , but I was originally thinking about the P30i and it seems a natural fit with a lift. That mask may not be approved yet in Canada or something, they seem almost impossible to find. Things worked out great with the P10 so no complaints , but the lift makes sense as I definitely like the climateline and it has some weight to it for sure.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 11:30 amGreat to hear you're doing so well with the P10! No but I will look at it , thanks. I haven't had my machine too long, and my knowledge of what's out there is pretty superficial.

I don't know why you would want to look at a nasal mask when you switched to nasal pillows and are doing extremely well. However, if you want to shop, go to our sponsor's webpage, cpap.com. It's loaded with information and customer reviews on many masks. You can sort by Most Popular.Greenpepper wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 3:17 pmNo but I will look at it , thanks. I asked because years ago I tried all available nasal pillows. Each one was objectionable in one or more ways: pinched nasal septum, straps pulled up cheeks, couldn't stop leaks, torsion from firm pillow, et. al. The Mirage has been comforting and excellent, providing the cushion is renewed every two weeks. Leak averages 2, AHI 0.1

Re: Switched to pillows from nasal
P10 pillows generally work for me 3 weeks without trouble.
