how to connect heated tube to mask

Post by milandimi » Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:55 am

Hi,

I recently got my first device (airsense 10 apap) and got it setup. I bought heated tube and problem is that I can't attach it to my mask. Same problem as this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-revi ... B00NN7KMG4

How can I connect it, do I need a special coupling ?

Thank you

There's a piece of white plastic from a different mask stuck in the mask end of the heated hose or maybe the old non heated hose that came off the mask and got stuck.
Common error. I looked at the images at the Amazon site....easy to spot the white thing that appears to be part of the hose but it isn't supposed to be there.

The mask end of the hose is supposed to be only the gray rubber stuff and no white ring thing.

This happens all the time. Now getting that little piece of white plastic (it's an adapter from a different mask most likely) out of the heated hose can be tricky and seem impossible but it will come out.

If no luck and you don't see a white thing in the hose then something is missing on the mask end...so take pictures and post both the mask and the hose.

And don't forget to look at your old hose if you ever used a non heated hose. It shouldn't have anything stuck in it either.

Check the end of your standard hose...there is most likely a plastic connector that must be removed and put in the heated hose. The connector is part of the mask.

It depends on your mask. Try googling your specifc mask plus swivel.

For example, the amazon pic looks something like this.
https://cpapsupplies.com/respironics-en ... lve-swivel
which is specific to ComfortGel Blue Full Face Mask (may fit others)

This https://cpapsupplies.com/resmed-swivel works with
Mirage Activia LT, Ultra Mirage II, Mirage Micro, Mirage Quattro, Mirage SoftGel, Quattro FX

https://cpapsupplies.com/cpap-supplies/other has a bunch other ones.
ResMed Lumis Tx - VAuto mode

I had a DME try to sell me the mask WITHOUT that part.
Obviously, the mask had been out of the package--how far out is anybody's guess..
I made them fetch an UNOPENED mask out of stock.
Later, I ghosted them, buying further products from cpap.com.
