Dreamstations On Sale - Any Idea Why?

Post by zzz1 » Tue Mar 09, 2021 4:24 pm

I'm seeing a big sale on Philips Dreamstation Autos. Is this something that they do from time to time or does anyone know if they are clearing inventory for a new model?

Not as cheap as at Christmas. Got one from cpap.com for $349 in December.
But probably new models coming.

Sometimes it's overstock/slow business/cash flow problems.
Oh, for the little irritations of those who never have to choose which bill to pay . . .

Since these machines are being discounted all over
..by most vendors, I assume it's model change time.

This is all I have been able to find so far

https://fccid.io/THO1141623/External-Ph ... ls-4687713
Note release dates....April and Oct of last year. ....may have got pushed back due to Covid

When I attempted to download the user manuals....none there yet.

Historically Respironics seems to always release the apap model first.

Looks very interesting, I am looking at getting one if they get released soon. Do you think its close to being the same as the dreamstation go? How much do dreamstation apaps usually go for when they are newly released?

I gave you all I know which isn't much.
Have no idea how it compares to the Go and as far as costs go...depends on if you get the humidifier with it or not but you can check MSRP currently and historically the prices for new models have normally been right around what the MSRP for older model was.

It's just too soon to know much of anything right now. Respironics hasn't even officially announced it yet and we don't know where it will first be released either. Might not even be in the USA for all we know.

Patience grasshopper.....patience.

Personally....I will be surprised if we see it by summer.

Personally, I never buy a new model of anything...I let others find the flaws and work out the bugs.

I hear you by having some ppl test it out first. But the machine really isn't all that different by the algorithms, meaning it will still give u the same comfortable therapy. It looks like they are like cars, they do the same thing but with more features. They just add new tech, like the modem is built in and the DME can monitor it more.

I wouldn't but a new model car the first 6 months of production. The more gadgets the more initial problems. If they are basically the same...why not stick to something that is a known winner.

It would be a shame if adjustments could only be made using a piece of hardware sold only to dealers.
You know they have thought about it . . .

Thats a good point, I am surprised that cpaps have been so easy to get into the clinical menu considering it is an rx device. I thought each device would at least have a passcode to get into.
