DME Companies
The DME company that I got my machine from is really lacking in customer service and when I talk to a respiratory therapist with said company, they act as if answering questions is a bother. My machine was paid for by my insurance company 100% but I was never told the details, not sure if they pay said DME company so much per month until I will own the CPAP machine? So with all that in mind, am I able to switch to a new DME or will they bill me for the CPAP if I do?

Re: DME Companies
You should ask your Insurance Company these questions. The policies are different at different companies.

Re: DME Companies
DME companies are not known for their customer service and mainly because they don't consider us their customer. That is because we don't always have a choice where to get the cpap or supplies - that is until the compliance period is over.
But as mentioned you need to contact your insurance and ask them IF there are other options available. Or if they will reimburse you if you buy supplies (for less) elsewhere. You should also ask about the schedule for replacement supplies.
You should also let them know what you thought of the customer service - tho its only venting as they are in a contract and it is ALL about money.

Re: DME Companies
The insurance company is more likely to be inclined to tell the truth.
With DME's, the truth is not often in their best interest--or so they believe.
