Oskar observations or recommendations appreciated

Post by tigertrout » Thu Feb 11, 2021 7:57 am

Newbi here, Dog slobber has been helping me out tremendously and within a very short period of time has transformed my AHI from 54 to under 5.
he suggested that I might post a daily of my oskar report to see if the experts way in with some comments or recommendations. This report is really
only the second or 3rd night after ringing out mask issues. Many thx to Sheldon.

You're in good hands with DS, and I'll be curious what he thinks about your chart. My first thought is that it'd be good to raise your minimum to see whether that will reduce the number of obstructive events you're having. I think you'd feel OK with a minimum of 10, since that's where your pressure is for much of the night, but you could sneak up on it by increments of 1, staying at each new setting for at least a few nights.

Might you also consider shortening your ramp time and raising your ramp pressure to at least 7?

Important questions: how soundly do you think you're sleeping during the night, and how are you feeling during the day?

Small thing: be sure to zoom all the way out before you post a daily chart.

Looking at your pressure graph, your pressure seldom goes to your minimum and is around 10 at least half of the night. If this was my chart, I would try raising my minimum pressure to around 9 or 10. This may help with the snoring and eliminate some of the flow restrictions.

thx so far......DS has already suggested raising the minimum and were are going to do that in the next day or so.

Overall, I believe I am sleeping a whole lot better, not nearly as tired during the days as I was before.

When I was young I used the jump out of bed in the morning raring to go. I doubt I will ever see that again.

thx for the help

Miss Emerita,

Your observations exactly describe my own thoughts.

Increase minimum pressure. Now that we see where the machine want to go, let's increase the minimum to give it a head start. When comfortable, move it to 9 or 10, if less comfortable reduce the increment to 1 (or less) and leave it there a few days and then we will re-evaluate.

Increasing the minimum should clean up the snores, Flow Limits and flatten the pressure trace.

And yes that graph is zoomed in a bit, back it out.

I also *believe* his ramp is in Auto mode, but OSCAR doesn't represent that correctly, instead representing it as 45 minutes. But go into Clinical Mode and ensure Ramp is set to Auto and not 45 minutes.
