I started my therapy in October of last year so I've been on the CPAP for about 6 months. I usually awake with a runny nose and a lot of sneezing. It clears up as the day goes on but it's annoying. This morning after a few minutes up and dressed my nose started to drip some blood. It stopped fairly quickly but it worries me.
Anyone out there with a similar problem ???
Thanks

People have similar problems because they don't have or use a heated humidifier.
If you don't have a heated humidifier for your machine, get one. If you have one, turn it up higher.
And a belated welcome. And please complete your profile, equipment section, so we will have more info.

Hi Ron,
You've probably noticed that the prime suspect in your case is a heated humidifier.
Your profile shows that you have a heated humidifier, so, clearly, the suspect is in custody.
Now that you have him, what are you going to do with him? Are you going to use him every night? Are you going to let him be a passover humidifier and not even turn him on? Or, are you going to let him do his job as a heated humidifier and crank up that heat?
Will you be sure his tank isn't leaking water? You never know when someone may have pushed him around. His seals are sensitive and a messed up seal will cause the tank to leak water into the humidifier base. No humidity for you when that's happening.
How's your humidifier going to make that nose bleed up to you? By reminding you that a nose bleed is less likely if the tank does not run out of water during the night. Make sure that tank is filled with distilled water just before bed.
Let us know if you need assistance with the suspect.
