Sore under nose from nasal cushion

Post by Peacenana » Sat Jan 23, 2021 8:51 am

I have had a sore under my nose (between nostrils) on and off, but usually I apply some lanolin/Lansinoh to the spot when I go to bed and it's okay. But lately it's not going away. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you solve it?
I use the under the nose nasal cushion (Dreamwear) and just recently solved the mask leak problem I was having by wearing a ruby chinstrap. Apparently I was mouth breathing all this time. So I am doing good at last and now this sore, which is becoming quite raw.
Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

I have the same thing going on and would also like to see what people say. I really like my P10 but is makes my nose raw within a couple weeks because I'm so active at night. Most of the time I use my N10 nasal cushion to avoid the rawness.

Same here, where my nasal septum? meets my upper lip. Kind of a chronic problem. Seems to be affected by being to tight. I try and keep moved away from that area. I need a longer nose.

Hi,
Mine is getting worse and I'm afraid I will have to use a different mask that doesn't apply pressure to that area at least until the wound heals. This sucks because it's taken me so long to get the mask leaks under control with the Dreamwear under the nose cushion.
Good luck. If anyone else has advice to offer us, please write.

Paceanna,

I rotate between the Dreamware cushion and the Pico cushion. It's light, comfortable, and has a different profile than the Dreamware and allows the sore point to heal. It works for me.

not so much with soreness , only once in a great while. Have been using the p 10 for several years now and wonder if anyone has had better results with a newer model of nasal pillow masks. leaks are not bad , but we are always searching for the holy grail of masks/ equipment . think i may tweek my air up a little to see if that helps.
thanks all,
tim

I had the same problem with the P10 even after using it for a year and went from the med to large which was better( hoped the skin would toughen up ) I have now switched to resmed n30 mask size small and found I no longer have sores but the leak rate is higher.

You might need a different mask to let that heal, but after try loosening up a little. It shouldn't be so tight that it causes pressure.
