I see my sleep doc next week for the annual checkup but thought I'd go with some targeted questions by asking here first. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea in January 2018.
I have the AirTouch F20 cushion with the memory foam. I also have tried the F30 cushion but prefer the memory foam of the F20.
Lately I have had aching at the base of my skull on both sides, and sometimes back of neck. I do _not_ get a headache though. I suspect the strap from the headgear. For a few nights now I have placed a light washcloth under the rear strap and it seems to help some. For awhile I had the F30 headgear on the F20...I just dug it out and will try it again tonight. I also bought cheekpads for the F30 so it is quite the contraption when I'm done. What I like about that headgear is it is adjustable on top of the head, and the F20 headgear is not. Sometimes I think I might need the Small headgear for the F20 but I need the Medium cushion. I do sleep primarily on my back so of course that means pressure all night on the back of my head. I am currently experimenting with "wedging" 2 pillows, (regular down/feather mix) but also don't want to force my chin onto my chest. Also I pull the cheek straps fairly snug on the F20 and wonder if that is part of it.. (These straps also have left double "track" marks on both sides of my cheeks right by my lips. I asked a dermotologist about them at a visit (for something else) and he basically said nothing to be done.

Anyway...has anyone else experienced the base-of-skull pain? What might help? What about the special pillows marketed to CPAP users?
Again, I will ask the doc next week, but was hopeful of asking about any specific suggestions garnered from the users here.
Thanks!
