Resumed ASV versus Phillips ASV

Post by BRB2 » Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:09 pm

Hello all. First time poster here, but long time reader and fan.

I have a Resmed Aircurve 10 for Her and a Resmed Vauto bipap. Neither worked for me. After 2 more successive sleep studies I have been prescribed an ASV. I have used a Resmed ASV before, liked it and had success. So I’m familiar with Resmed.

I’ve searched here but couldn’t find clear answers.

My question is: Which machine is better? Resmed or Phillips?

I realize a lot of this is personal preference and I am not technical enough to understand differences is algorithms. So plain English answers are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Many find the Resmed algorithm more sophisticated.
I expect to stick with Resmed unless it becomes too costly.
This is that rare situation where you actually get what you pay for.

I have the Phillips (60 series auto SV advanced) and I don't like it. I feel like I have to adapt to it instead of it adapting to me. I don't sleep well using it and my AHI is terrible with tons of hypopneas. It just doesn't seem to react quick enough for me. I have just purchased the ResMed AirCurve 10. I can't wait to use it. Should be here tomorrow.

Thanks all. Others say the same. I’m going with Resmed. :D

They used phillips machines in my titration years ago. Even their asv was not so hot for me. The resmed asv did the trick.
