Medicare and inflated prices

Post by findingzzero » Sun Dec 13, 2020 8:18 am

I know Medicare doesn't pay the inflated prices that my med supply outfit charges, but have they (supplier) no shame? I ordered a new heated tube (this is the second one in less than a year, stopped heating). I checked one website and it was on sale for $25, but listed as $50. My med supply Co. submitted a bill for $80. Let's see what the cost is to me. I don't like wasting the people's (and my) money. I use a head chin strap and still get dry mouth. This is a problem looking for a solution.

If it was a standard hose, Medicare will approve about $15. IF it was a heated hose they will approve about $25. You pay 20% depending on your suppliment. Medicare and the Manufacturers have pre approved procedures about the charges. Why do you care what the paperwork says? The MSRP is fictitious on many items in our economy.

Why?
How about WHY NOT?
How about concern for your fellow man?
These fictitious statements could easily be mistaken for a bill,
regardless of CYA text indicating otherwise (some people may not even SEE the fine print).
It is a blatant attempt to solicit double payment, without "technically" double-billing.
It is NOT all right to pull this sh*t.
It is almost as bad as the cheesy fake "original" prices posted by some retailers.
Such obvious deceit only gets me pointed towards the exit.
