Somnera system

Post by Justwannasleep1 » Thu Dec 03, 2020 5:10 pm

I'm in the market for a new CPAP and just noticed the somnera system. I'm naturally interested since not much new items come out in regards to new CPAP machines. The lack of a humidifier in interesting. I also wonder if it will work with OSCAR. Do you all have any opinions ? I currently have a dreamstation and was originally planning on switch to the airsense before seeing the somnera system

It does not sound as effective as they claim it is.
"Lower airflow", "valves" --sounds like a torture device to me.
No, thank you. I know cpap WORKS!
And that "pressure" that they want you to think is a "bad thing"-
-is easy to get used to--and can SAVE YOUR LIFE.
I find it very comforting, in fact.
I would avoid anything promoted as an "alternative to cpap".
Too many liars, cheats, and just bad players out there.
PS---Oscar only works with cpap machines.
Somnera should be called "Scamnera".

That seems a bit too critical without any knowledge of it. They did get clearances, I'd imagine it wasn't for no reason

Are you what marketing professionals call an "early adopter"? If so, go for it and give us a review.

The FDA has not evaluated the effectiveness of this device. The FDA only notified Somnera that Somnera's description of the device makes it substantially equivalent to existing CPAP machines. This exempts it from requirements for a premarket approval application. https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_doc ... 200698.pdf

But, by all means, feel free to try it and give us a review. (It seems to not be available until at least the middle of this month.) I would ask if the supplier allows a 30-day return for full credit.
