Is ResMed Discontinuing the Swift FX?

Post by southerndoc » Fri Nov 27, 2020 7:14 pm

The Swift FX so far has been the best nasal pillows that I've used. I was looking at ResMed's website to look at their AirFit N30i/P30i masks. I noticed the Swift FX is no longer listed. Curious if ResMed is discontinuing it.

Also, any thought on the N30i vs P30i? Looks like the N30i are minimalist nasal masks while the P30i has a nasal pillow design.

https://www.resmed.com/en-us/sleep-apne ... /swift-fx/

I doubt very much if the Swift FX will be killed off anytime soon. There are even older models still being produced that aren't nearly as popular as the Swift FX.

N is for nasal
P is for pillow as in nasal pillow
So yes...N30i is the nasal cushion...and P30i is the nasal pillow version
It's that way with F also...F for full face

I purchased a ResMed N30i last night at CVS (my local CVS sells CPAP equipment, it's awesome when you need something urgently). Coming from the Swift FX, this thing is much better. I feel much better this morning than last night and my AHI was 0.3 (normally average around 0.5-1 with the Swift FX). I do need to increase my starting pressure/ramp as I felt like the initial pressure wasn't enough and I was having a hard time breathing through the mask and subsequently falling asleep.

I have a new unopened Swift FX for Her REF 61540. Will Trade for Swift LT, or Dreamwear GEl Pillows Large.

FYI, the n30i and the p30i are interchangeable, as they use the SAME frame and headgear.
