changing from a Swift FX to a full face

Post by Leland » Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:12 am

I am trying to change from using Swift FX nasal pillows to an F20 full face mask. Unfortunately my AHI increases from about one with pillows to 15-20 with the F20. My low pressure is 5 cm and my high is 8 cm. Can anybody recommend a better pressure setting for the full face mask?

You will just have to experiment with gradually increasing your minimum pressure up to where you see your AHI get down to the range you want. There's no formula that works for everyone.
From what I have heard from people here on the forum who have gone either to full face from nasal or from full face to nasal...2 to 3 cm difference but not always.

Also need to know the breakdown into each apnea event category...that's a much larger than usual change happening when just changing masks and maybe needing a bit of tweaking.

Need to see the software reports to see what the pressure is doing and the actual events being flagged and when.

Thanks Pugsy. I picked up two new full face masks today which will hopefully let me increase the pressure without excessive leaks. I'll try them and let you know how they went.
