I have a used Airfit 20 full face mask that my dad doesn't use anymore.
I see the bayonet fitting on a 3M N100 cartridge is about the same size as the nozzle port on the F20 mask.
So I'm thinking "how can I most effectively connect these together?"
You can't buy real N95 masks anywhere. While I know the stats on them (the wearer gains a possible 12-14% benefit in reduction of inhaled viral load) an air tight CPAP face mask + P100 cartridge would be a "very significant" increase in
safety. I have not been inside any retail establishment since March, but I still find myself at drive thru windows, and having to interact with people in random situations. I've got this mask, and as a bonus it's fairly easy to get on and off compared to stringy ear masks, or actual NIOSH style behind-the-head elastic bands.
I'm thinking I could saw the front nozzle off of the elbow fitting and epoxy or cynaoacrylate it to the cartridge fitting, but I'd prefer to find a bayonet fitting I could glue to the F20.
Has anyone else tried this? I know that CO2 buildup would be the issue.
I have the additional thought that my elderly 86 year old father may need to go somewhere at some point, and it would be handy to have for him as well.
I would think the CPAP industry would have been poised to make some sort of cushion-liner/mask that would be superior to the Amazon-cloth surgical style mask... oh well.

Alternately, I thought about trying to fit 3m 1900 filter material to a flatter CPAP cushion?

Is it easily cleanable between wearings? And would any nursing home allow him to wear it?

I was thinking that my homemade vinyl face mask could be altered to use as a cpap mask.
It was built with the pattern used to make my leather mask.
