AHI on MyAir App?

Post by dbebz » Fri Oct 16, 2020 5:29 pm

Quick question. I know the stats on the MyAir app are basic as f**k but I was just curious. Is this a typical ebb and flow and level of AHI while on CPAP. I haven’t checked myself but I know from sleep studies I have centrals (typically sleep wake cycle) so I’m pretty sure at least half of those are centrals.

My friend is on CPAP and it appears his chart hovers between 1-2.

Before CPAP treatment my AHI hovered around somewhere between mid 20s to around 30 per hour. Mostly obstructive I believe.

If half of your events are sleep/awake Centrals, you are in good shape. AHI will fluctuate from night to night. You will get more accurate information by using the Sleep Report on your machine's screen. It's necessary to make a change in the settings area...Change Essentials to Plus.

Thanks. I think the CPAP place printed out my average monthly report or something and the central apnea index was like 2.5 and the obstructive index was maybe 0.8.

Also I had no idea of the essential vs plus, thanks!

Essentials has two settings:
On, (the default) which displays next to nothing, and
Plus, which gives you the whole schmear.

Are you guys serious? I just opened up that menu after getting home. I had NO idea this was even a thing! Wow. Thank you so much for all your help. This satisfies my need of not “obsessing” over technical OSCAR data but still getting a better overview of my stuff. Attached picture for reference.

I’ve attached 1 month average, and 1 day average (which was unusually high, maybe because I just restarted CPAP after PSG).

The default parameter is for 30 days. This can be changed to 1 day or 1 week if you wish. You can then glance at the sleep report in the morning when you turn off the machine if you want to and be done with it.

Do remember though....this 30 day report is the default setting and if you want something else and change it....if you lose power for some reason when the machine comes back on and reboots it will default back to this setting and you will need to change it again to a different parameter if that is what you what to see.
