Hallelujah!!! Good News!

Post by Slinky » Thu Mar 08, 2007 4:06 pm

I'm at least partially shed of this local DME I'm so DISGUSTED with!!!! I had a long talk w/my 02 DME supplier today and whilst they were VERY careful at first, when I pushed the issue, they did tell me that I am NOT under any obligation to continue w/my present yucky DME for my xPAP supplies other than the capped rental on my machine itself which they strongly suggested I would be better off continuing and fulfilling that contract.

They will send their RT out w/a van w/a wide variety of masks for me to try. And they will routinely ship supplies such as hoses, filters, etc. as they are due for replacement. I told him I knew we were eligible for a new hose every 30 days but I sure didn't see the need for that. He said that it wasn't necessary to accept a hose very 30 days but he strongly suggested that I replace the hose at least every 90 days, especially since I am also on 02 as well.

So, I shouldn't have to deal w/this lousy DME I've been stuck w/the last 4 1/2 months or even talk to them for another 9 months when my capped rental is completed!!! Hallelujah! Every contact I've had with this bunch I've come away angrier than a wet hen.

What a GRAND birthday present, even if late by one day!!!! Its The Outback for dinner tonight to celebrate! AND I even may just have myself one good frozen margarita!!!!

Thanks, Bookwrm. Actually tho, it is the partial riddance of my current xPAP DME that I will be celebrating!!!!!! If I never had to see or talk to them again it would be too soon. Just ONE more time ... the day I get clear title to my xPAP and then I am TRULY shed of them. I'll have TWO frozen margaritas THAT day! Maybe even more!!!

Happy birthday Slinky and Bookwrm 63! It's my birthday too. I wish I could have a big old juicy steak. That sounds marvelous but I guess I'll have to have a small broiled chicken breast with veggies. I HAVE to lose some weight. My doctor really chewed on me the last time I was in about my weight. Oh well, at least I'm alive and in reasonably good health to enjoy my birthday.

Happy Birthday, TaterPie!!! Good on you for sticking to your guns on eating right. But surely, if you think long and hard you can come up w/something special that will fit in w/your current diet and meet your doctor's approval!!

Chicken breast w/broccoli and cauliflower and carrots sound pretty darn good to me! Two of my very fave veggies! Is mozzarella cheese an allowed cheese? I heard a good sounding recipe of chicken breast marinated in Zesty Italian Dressing (ooops! I suppose that is a no-no?) then baked rolled around a broccoli sprout and topped w/mozzarella that I thought sounded good. A little paprika for color?

Hey you birthday people, the Outback steak, Margaritas, chicken dishes you all mentioned is making my mouth water, my birthday is the 12th, but can't wait, so taking the family out Saturday nite, at a great gourmet pizza place, great variations of pizza, several cold beers, thats the ticket.

Ps. putting calorie count on hold for the evening.

Thank you so much, OldHippie.

And Hurricane!!! Pizza? Beer? I'm still kinda stuffed from The Outback last night and some of the leftover Prime Rib. I had that for breakfast this morning w/some fried taters and eggs.

BUT - if you have any of that pizza left over .... I do like even warmed over pizza!! I like the thin and crispy crust variety.

I'll be thinking of you and wishing you a Happy Birthday this weekend. We're going out for Chinese Saturday. The 12th, huh? The first day of DST!!!

Sounds like my preferred breakfast. Too bad the food police won't let me eat it. Oh, well. The Kona coffee is the best and zero caleries too.

Hey Slinky,
Chinese sounds great also, now I'm going to be eating pizza, and thinking about you and your Chinese selections, a order of General Tsos's chicken, Szechuan style comes to mind. I might have sleep apnea but nothing wrong with my appetite. Have a fun night.
