Question about water level and humidifier

Post by LG34 » Mon Sep 14, 2020 6:12 pm

For years, the water level in the water chamber never changed in the mornings. I filled it up to the first mark from the bottom per instructions and it would be about half left in the morning. Humidity set to 4. Then in the last few months, some mornings it’s empty. I’ve increased humidity setting to 5. Same house, same weather, same settings on air/heat thermostat. For instance over the weekend, it was empty one morning and the next didn’t look like hardly any was used. I checked Resmed report and it said leak was 18/20 and 20/20 ie very little to no leak. Why would this vary so much?

The room humidity affects how much water gets used at any particular setting, and 5 will use more water than 4.

The variations in water level were all at a setting of 5.

The main factors affecting water consumption.

1....ambient humidity...you would be surprised how much ambient humidity matters even with a relatively small change
2....pressures used...more pressure will consume more water
3....large leaks...more leaking will consume more water

It may be the pressure. Will check the settings on that.

Is the humidifier turned on? Is the water container hot on the bottom when you remove it? Is the water remaining at least warm?

Yes, humidifier is turned on. I haven't changed any settings. I believe it is hot when I remove it in the mornings. I will pay attention.
