Hello!
I am using a full face mask and recently have been getting red marks along the side of my nose that are getting worse. I'm using a mask liner now but since I've been using the mask liners, I have noticed that my ResMed machine gives me a red angry

leak rather than the happy green

that I usually get. My AHI is still less than 1, so do I even need to worry about the red

?
I read that some of the Mask liners may cause increased leaks but my face is better, I feel like my sleep is pretty much the same so I was wondering if I should worry about the increased air leaks. Thank you

If your numbers are good, you're no longer getting red marks, and most importantly the increased leaks aren't waking you up then keep using the liners.

My leak numbers are higher but AHI is still less than one. My question is should I be concerned about the really high leak rate?

Do you spend much time at a leak rate over 35 to 40 L/min?
So just how high do the leaks go and for how long? Over 40 for very long and it wouldn't be impossible for the machine to miss flagging an event. Usually when that starts to happen you might see some UA flags first.
The reason we worry about prolonged big leaks and a low AHI we can't say for sure if the AHI is low because nothing happened or the leaks were so bad the machine was clueless.
The machine will give you Mr Frowny if you spend 30% or more of the night above 24 L/min but that 24 L/min is a conservative number and maybe your leak is at 28 L/min for 30 % of the night. The machine is still fairly accurate up to around 35 to 40 L/min. Once you go well past 40....it gets iffy in terms of accuracy.
So the 2 things to look at....how deep into large leak territory did you go and how long were you there???
I have seen a leak max of 50 but only for 5 minutes. I slept through it and I ignore it. Now if I spent half the night up at 50 L/min then I would start worrying a bit.
If I spent all night at 30 L/min and that was as deep as I went into large leak territory and I slept through it and felt good...I would shrug my shoulders and ignore it despite seeing MrFrowny I am sure.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

I haven't looked at deeply into the data as I am uninstalled sleepyhead. I was just going by the

. I actually got a better night sleep with a 96 out of 100 score the night I wrote this. Last night not so good because the material was slipping off of my mask. I'm going to try to secure my liner a little better tonight. Thanks for your help is always
