my new ASV machine
my new ASV machine
After being diagnosed with central sleep apnea my doctor switched me to a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV. I have a problem going to sleep with it because it seems that when I start to drift off to sleep, I stop breathing and the ASV increases the pressure dramatically and that wakes me up. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'd like to adjust the settings so that it does not send any pressure spikes until after about ten minutes, at which point I will normally be sleeping. I don't know if that is possible.
Re: my new ASV machine
Check to see if you have ramp available as an option and if you do turn it on and set it for about 20 minutes to give yourself a chance to fall asleep.
It won't respond in ramp. Doesn't record anything either but you need to get to sleep first and foremost.
If you can't see ramp or how to get into the clinical setup menu where it should be...the clinical/provider manual explains how and you can request that manual from here.
