A mask for a wild sleeper

Post by bigcat » Wed Mar 07, 2007 8:14 pm

I toss and turn a lot. I currently use the activa, but would like to find something not as big, that I can read with but will keep a good seal for a side, back, other side, stomach, back to side sleeper.

I know all masks fit people differently, but there has to be something better than the activa for wild different position sleeps. Any advice?

Thanks

Both the swift and the Twilight NP hold work really well for me and I'm a toss n' turner.

The hybrid and the optilife are great masks for reading or watching tv. Both will stay put even with alot of tossing and turning.

The hybrid never worked for me. I never got through a night with it. Back in the case it went.

Generally, for wild sleeping as you describe, you want a mask that is capable of routing the hose over the top of your head ... some of the nasal pillow types like the Breeze, Comfort Lite 2, Adams Circuit, and the newer Opus route over the top of the head. The Acclaim is a nasal cushion that routes over the top of your head also.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

bigcat,

It seems you are using a nasal mask but you also tried a full face mask (Hybrid). Do you know if a nasal mask gives you good therapy (that is no mouth breathing or mouth leaking)?

Bigcat, a headband or homemade stretchy strap will stabilize most masks -- as long as you don't block exhale vents. You might try one on your Activa or new nasal pillow interface (when you get one). I would use it like the red strap below in RG's picture.

I find the CL2 very stable. I toss and turn back and forth, sleep on my side alot and have no real leak problem.

The new Optilife is superb!! You can sleep on either side; and on your stomach. A great seal; quiet and the pressure even seems less!! I love it!

I don't think I have a problem with mouth breathing. The activa works great for my active sleeping. My leak rates are great. I can use the activa without any modifications.

I know, I sound like I want my cake and eat it too. I would love a stable mask that is more light weight and I can read, watch tv.

The CL2 is starting to sound good.

I have a swift and did the (tridens ??) fix. With the swift, when I turn over, it pulls my nose all over the place. Like someone has their finger in my nostril pulling it left and right. The swift is ok, I just need something a little more stable.

It never hurts (except in the wallet department) to dabble around with different masks.

You might like the Soyala... I prefer my Soyala to my Activa because it's smaller and quieter. It was harder for me to get adjusted correctly but once I did it was very nice.

I'd second the recommendation for a Twilight NP.

I hope I'm not high-jacking this thread with my question.
I use the swift and really like it except when I get on my side or a little farther. I tend to dislodge it and leak when my cheek hits the pillow. I want to change to the CL2 or twilight next month. My only concern is the reading glasses. I read while ramping up and it doesn't look like I can wear my glasses without taking the mask off to remove them.
Does anybody wear glasse with the CL2 or twilight?
Thanks....

cajapato, that is not hgh-jacking, I am curious about that part as well. That is really my mission, find a mask that works as well as the activa, but I can read, watch tv, etc.

I have the same problem with the swift. So close yet so far.

The Hybrid is great for reading and watching TV but isn't for everyone.
