Here are my OSCAR results

Post by Fejsbukpejdz » Fri Jun 05, 2020 9:32 pm

I am making a new thread so that people who want to read about analysis of the results can be lead to it by the title.

My previous titles were related to actual machine set up and so on.

So this is what I got.

Only thing I can understand here is, once the pressure in the machine lowered for some reason, his O2 levels started dropping.

Good things I've noticed: HE wakes up rarely, he NEVER stops breathing anymore which is freaking amazing. I was so scared when he used to stop breathing during the night

Also I must say he slept tilted and on his side..

He is now sleeping on his back.

And from what I see pressures are going higher on the machine.

Will post as soon as he is awake

PLEASE post according to instructions... there are more graphs here than are needed but no results down the left side (leaving off the calendar) that we do want to see (look at Oscar's on other people's charts. Don't need to see the 02 thing at all. Just curious why you left the minimum pressure at 4? And you should not have made a new thread... now no one reading this will know what it's all about and may not bother to look at the other threads.

ohh okay will have it fixed in a minute sorry...

I left 4 because I was myself sleep deprived, looking after him every night. I barely got some sleep this morning like 3 hours :(

I fixed it now it is 5 to 20

I noticed pressure spikes quite a lot when he is on his back.

I will post that as well I just have to figure out this imgur thing for posting images.

Thank you so much Julie

6, not 5. And stop looking at what you see as pressure spikes - until you understand how to read Oscar when others see the charts.

Hey - it looks great! It's a really good result! Nothing is unusual, very high or anything else. It worked! :D

Now post again after a couple of more nights (with pressure a little higher) and we'll see how it looks (one 'short' night's not enough really).

I just don't understand why was pressure so high later, it woke him up and it wouldn't stop even while he was awake...it kept going up

it made sense because he was sleeping on his back, but it keept increasing even as he layed on his side and even woke up...

his O2 was low so the pressure was increasing. His O2 got fixed but the pressure kept going up

You're misunderstanding what you're looking at, please wait for experts to comment.

What 'pressure' was 'so high later' that it woke him (even while awake?)?

The pressure setting of 20 for the max is good, the setting for the minimum could be 6 instead of 4.

What else you are misinterpreting or talking about I don't know. Stop trying to understand the graphs until we explain them to you.

The pressure was not so high, and the machine doesn't know whether he was sleeping or awake.

Julie has done a terrific job advising you, and has shown you a lot of patients. Set your minimum pressure to 6, and let the machine do its job.

You need to stop trying to micro-manage his therapy. Every time the machine changes its pressure it's doing so for a reason, you don't need to hover around and start pressing buttons. Your brother has gotten the best sleep in a very long time. And as he gets used to it it will get better.

Set the pressure to minimum 6, maximum 20.
Get a few days of data, post some graphs we'll see if more tweaks are needed.

The pressure appears to have risen in response to the series of hypopneas.

Hello everyone... here is another night with around 11 hours of sleep.

Two things I've noticed...

1. Despite me setting his pressure to 6, machine was still sometimes operating around pressure of 4.

2. He had some centrals I post picture of them here. Can someone comment on them? Is it common to see this during 11 hours of sleep. I know some of yall said it's quite common to see them from time to time but I just wonder if this is what you had in mind.

One question I have

SHould I set his pressure to be constant at 9.4 or something and let it run through the night. No wiggling down and up. I found some youtube video some man said proper constant pressure is better than the changing one. So I just wonder what you guys think about it :)

Is there anyway we can set up some beer or drinks donation website for folks here trying to help out?

I mean this is more helpful than the doctors I've spoken to, yet they get 200 bucks for 10 minutes of their talk.

The machine statistics is showing 4 cm minimum being used because the ramp is being used and the ramp starts at 4 cm.
Don't use the ramp and 4 cm won't be used.

Your clear airway (central) events are negligible... ignore them. And listen to Pugsy about everything else because I'm not very technical and she knows her stuff backwards.
