CA events after awakening = inaccurate AHI
CA events after awakening = inaccurate AHI
Like many others I'm trying to lower my AHI as much as possible. I often wake up earlier than I like and try to get back to sleep whilst still wearing my mask but after failing to sleep again (most of the time) I turn off CPAP. However I see many CA events during the time that I am awake in bed - these are obviously false positives but they screw up the AHI score. Is there any way to remove these or trim the timeline so that they are not included in the AHI? Example from an unusually perfect night attached - many nights score 2-4 AHI due to these events.

Re: CA events after awakening = inaccurate AHI
The CPAP cannot tell if you are asleep or awake. If you are wearing your mask and the machine is on, it is counting apneas. The unit knows what kind of apneas they are and identifies them. The AHI includes all types of apneas.. If you know how many are CA's..just manually subtract the CAs from the total. Why are you worried about your score?

Re: CA events after awakening = inaccurate AHI
There is no way to remove false positives from the calculations without having separate sleep sessions to turn off.
Sleep sessions can be turned off and removed from the calculations but to create a new session you have to turn the machine off and then back on again.
If you find yourself awake after a prolonged period of time just reach over and turn the machine off and then right back on again.
This will create a break in the therapy line and a new session and if there are awake events flagged you can turn that session off.
Go scroll down under the statistics to the bottom ....see the session information data....click on the session to change it from green to red and when red the session data is omitted from the calculations.
This is the only way to remove any false flags from the calculations....omitting the session itself.
