Anyone else experience this? Seems more intense the deeper sleep I wake from.
Please share.
Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
Do you also have e.g. lightheadedness on standing quickly? If so, then your BP is likely low - something to ask your MD about. If not, please fill in your Profile (member pg) so we can know what model of which machine you have - model matters - and which mask, what pressures, any meds and when taken, etc. etc.
Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
Actually I should have mentioned, it happened when I wasn’t using the machine.
Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
But did it happen when you e.g. went to stand up or even sit, or not?
And most important (because anything could occur as a one-off due to who knows what) has it happened again, or ?

Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
Happened 2 or 3 times. While I was asleep and in the waking process.
Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
Do you have a sleep doctor or 'just' who?
Does the pressure feel like it's actually rising from ? your neck, or ??
How long does it last please?

i am not a doctor, so my opinion doesn't count, of course. it just seems like these two things can be related.

Re: Extreme upward pressure in head during sudden waking
This is beyond a CPAP question at this point. This needs a doctor's attention.
I read your other thread, and it sounds like you had an unsatisfactory video visit with the doctor you consulted (sleep specialist?). Start with your primary care physician. You need things like BP, blood sugar, and GERD checked out (yes, sometimes it can feel like upward pressure in the head) as well as sleep issue, ENT, issues, and possibly neurological issues. Your primary care doc will know where to start.
While it's hard to get direct care now, it's not impossible. If the pressure is truly "extreme", then this needs medical attention.
