So I'm curious, I'm switching masks from nasal pillow to a nasal mask....You can set the machine to indicate which type of mask your using....What changes does the machine make when you change those settings......I will say, I changed my masks 3 nights ago...One thing I have noticed, is that my nose feels more dried out....And I forgot to change the setting from pillow to mask...So im not sure if that will make a difference....
Thank you for any input..
AirSense auto 10 setting / difference
Re: AirSense auto 10 setting / difference
I think It has something to do with the leak calculation....

Oh, well that's not very exciting.....Thank you for the reply LSAT
Re: AirSense auto 10 setting / difference
We are never really told exactly what the mask setting choices do but years ago it was for generic baseline leak calculations and more recently it's been alluded to a minor adjustment for inherent mask resistance differences.
It's not the cause of your unwanted symptoms though. Most of the time when the wrong mask is chosen no one sees or feels any difference in anything.

Many ResMed devices offer an interface selection menu. Selecting the suitable interface enables the device to factor in the intentional leak emitting from the mask vent, which allows for more accurate unintentional leak reporting and alarm accuracy.

That's a very old quote, because *ALL* Resmed paps in the last decade, maybe two, have mask type settings.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 8:00 amMany ResMed devices offer an interface selection menu. I have *measured* small pressure changes at the machine with different masks, this is something that Respironics copied in their System One 60 series with the "respironics resistance setting'.
Every part in the patient circuit (which starts at the exit of the flow generator itself) affects the pressure at the patients face, this includes the humidifier, antibacterial filter, diameter and length of tube, and... type of mask.
The machine compensates by raising pressure for each of these items, whether you have a humidifier or not is automatically set, Resmeds have AB filter settings, hose type is automatically set if it's a heated hose, otherwise that needs to be set manually (and if it's wrong, the pressure at the mask is WAY off) and finally, mask type. Which is only a very small difference, less than one CM, but Resmed wants to be as accurate as possible..
